On eBay, Pricing is Key to Selling Your Items

Pricing your items that you want to list on eBay can be difficult for those who have never done it before. List your items too high, and you won't receive any bidders. List your items too low, however, and you run the risk of not making money - or worse, landing yourself in the negative. If you consistently price your items incorrectly, you can find yourself with little to no business, or owing money at the end of the day. Pricing your items correctly from the get go can severely cut down on how often this happens.

When you have done your research and know what items are popular on eBay, you should know what items you are looking for and their average selling costs. If not, you need to look up the most popular items on eBay by category, narrow down the products that you are interested in selling, and figure out what the average final selling price for each item you are interested in is. When you have a general idea, then you can start looking for where to purchase the item.

Purchasing items to resell on eBay can be tricky. You don't want to spend too much money up front and risk having overstock that doesn't sell, but you also don't want to spend more money on each item by buying less at a time, leaving you a smaller margin of profit. The best route to go is to find an item you want to sell going for at least half the price of what you want to sell it at. This gives you plenty of wiggle room to make money, without setting your starting bid to high.

When you list your items on eBay, list them as low as possible for you to break even. This includes your final value fee, your listing fee, and your shipping costs, along with the total price you paid for one item. If the item you are selling cost you $50, and additional costs, including eBay fees, totals $10, then the absolute lowest starting price for your item should be $60. This way, if only one person bids, you will at least break even on the transaction.

If you are feeling a bit risky, you may even want to list your item slightly lower than what your total costs for it are. Starting your bid lower than the other bids for the same item on eBay can get you more hits, and in turn, more bids. Many sellers often balk at the idea of setting their starting bid too low, but really, these are the sellers who probably see the most money for their auctions. Buyers are drawn to what they think is a deal, and once they get caught in a bidding war, there's no telling how high the final price could soar.

Be cautious not to set your starting bid too high, or you could effectively drive away potential bidders. Bids that start close to what the final price of the item should be, or bids that are significantly higher than the starting bids for the same items from other sellers, are far more likely to be passed over with no bids.

Great Ways to Conduct Your Market Research For Affiliate Marketers

By Mark Acutt
The more you look into your chosen market the better you will understand the wants, the desires, the needs etc of your potential customer. Some affiliate marketers bypass this stage in their campaign either because they think that they don't need to do it or because they have no idea how to conduct market research.

Market research for newbie affiliate marketers can seem like a daunting experience. If you look in the right places then you will find a whole host of information.

There are many ways to conduct great market research however, there seems to be an overlooked source where you can really get to know your target audience that very few marketers are using.

Believe it or not Amazon is a fantastic resource for conducting market research yet for some reason many affiliate marketers fail to use it. On Amazon people vent their likes and dislike about a whole host of products that you can use to really get to know the people that are interested in buying that particular product that you are going to promote.

This source is extremely good if you are promoting an information product. Lets take for an example if you are promoting a weight loss eBook; there are literally thousands of weight loss products on Amazon and literally thousands of reviews on these products.

These reviews are like gold dust. Read them including the bad reviews and make notes on what these people liked, disliked, what it lacked, how easy or hard it was to either read or use. You can then take these snippets of peoples thoughts to tailor your presell page and your whole marketing campaign to your potential visitors.

Forums are also a great way of conducting market research. Forums are similar to Amazon. You can read exactly what people are having problems with. Once again, make notes and try to understand how these people are feeling and what they are looking for. This is going to help you write your pre-sell.

Magazines are also a good resource. Nowadays most magazines that you find on the newsstand now have an online version that you can subscribe to. These are particularly good source to find possible headlines for your promotion.

Magazines hire professional copywriters to write these articles and headlines. You can be sure that the articles that are in these magazines are in there because market research will have uncovered that these are the issues that their readership are interested in knowing.

If you want to be a successful affiliate marketer then you ideally need to find out who these potential customers are, what they want, what they need, what they don't need, what they like or dislike.

Mark Acutt has been an online internet marketer for over 1 year now. This may not sound like much, but many internet marketers crash and burn long before this. Internet marketing is not as easy as it sounds.

Mark has developed his own system called Cash Bootstrap Method that the enables him to succeed in making money online everyday.

He has created this unique guide to help people achieve success online with internet marketing. If you want to know more about the Cash Bootstrap Method you can visit his site here: http://www.cashbootstrapmethod.com

Affiliate Marketing Sales - How to Make Insane Amounts of Money With Affiliate Marketing

By Christopher M. Hall
So many people have questions when it comes to affiliate marketing. Where do I start? How do I find good products? How do I get people to buy my products? If you have ever asked any of these questions, I have good news. I answer each one of these questions in this article.

Question #1: Where Do I Start?

If you want to get started in affiliate marketing today, I suggest you start with Commission Junction (cj.com) or ClickBank (clickbank.com). I have used Commission Junction and know first hand that they are reliable, offer many products, and are very easy to use. ClickBank focuses more on digital products than physical products so their commissions are much higher.

Question #2: How Do I Find Good Products?

You need to choose products that are related to your subject. Both Commission Junction and ClickBank divide their products into categories, so you should be able to find related products easily. Also, you want to find products that sell better than others. Commission Junction has a nice measuring tool called EPC (earnings per 100 hundred clicks). This allows you to compare the profit one product makes each 100 clicks compared to the other products.

Question #3: How Do I Get People To Buy My Products?

Here are a few tips. 1) Know your product - you need to be able to tell people why your product is better than others. 2) Build a list - it is much easier to sell products to people that have voluntarily signed up to your opt-in list than to sell to complete strangers and first-time visitors. 3) Be consistent - people have to trust you before they will buy from you. The best way to build trust is to be helpful and to stay around for a while. There are so many people that start affiliate marketing and then stop a month later. Hanging around for a while will build a lot of credibility.

Focusing the Search to Find Your Affiliate Program

By William M Drapcho
Many people are interested in earning an extra income online but many people just don't know how to do it. The Internet savvy web entrepreneurs of the World Wide Web are all moving to affiliate marketing programs lately. Although there are people who want make money on the Internet, most don't know how to do it properly without looking like an affiliate scam. Let's review a few things about searching on the Internet before you try to begin to make money.

What is your focus and topic? This is an area that some new affiliate owners have a difficult time with. If you say the Drudge Report, Sony Classics, or Virgin Megastore to somebody, they have a pretty good idea what that's about. All three of these names are brands in their own right. Drudge is a political and news organization, Virgin is a worldwide company which offers music, Sony Classics is a movie studio that does beautifully shot classical movies. These three mega names are all identifiable to most Americans and others around the world. This should be somewhat true of any affiliate program you chose to promote. Is the affiliate original, unique, and easily identifiable to other affiliate programs? If so, will they be the place most will go to for that particular product or service? This is the type of affiliate you want to be involved with that creates a solid name for themselves, and you feel proud to promote.

Patience is a virtue in the affiliate business. You'll be hungry and anxious to make the kind of money that everyone dreams about, but you need to understand it will take time. As long as you know what you are doing, follow the steps set out by the affiliate for advertising and promoting, you'll get there. To avoid looking like an online scam, you need to market yourself effectively, know your topic, and you need to focus. Make sure you have key words in place so you can be found more easily on the Internet. If people can find you at the top of the search engines then you are doing your job. Line up all of these key points and you should be able to make plenty of money online, just be patient.

Don't Have a Job? Affiliate Marketing - Why It's the Best Way to Make Money Without a Job

By Michele Foran
If you don't have a job right now then the best way for you to start making money online is with affiliate marketing. That's because affiliate marketing costs you practically nothing to get started. Affiliate marketing is basically selling other people's products and earning a nice commission for doing so. Many times a 50 - 75% commission!

All you need to get started is a computer, time and some creative thought.

The first thing you are going to do is go to Clickbank or Commission Junction and pick out a product. Once you have selected a product that you think you can promote then you get a link with your affiliate I.D. from the company or individual selling the product.

Then you are going to go to Squidoo and set up a lens, which is free to do. And you can also get a free blog at blogger.com. You are going to write about the product you are promoting, put your affiliate link in your text and wait for sales to come in.

Sounds easy? Well, hold on. Yes you can do all those things for free but there is a lot more to affiliate marketing than that. You need to write articles and submit them to the article sites and direct those articles to your blog or lens.

You need to know about RSS feeds and social bookmarking and especially keywords. Keywords are the things that people use when they are searching for a particular product or piece of information. Keyword research is essential to producing a great lens or blog that will get people to your site and then to the merchant's site so they can buy and you can make money.

Affiliate marketing is absolutely the best way to make money when you do not have a job and need money fast. But you can easily get overwhelmed by all the things you need to do in order to do it right. Everyone wants to shorten the learning curve and it can be done but you need a step-by-step guide and plan that will get you making money fast. Taking the right steps will keep you from making those time consuming mistakes that most newbie marketers make that frustrate them and have them quitting before that first sale comes in.

Many people are making a ton of money online every day. It's a great way to work in your pajamas and save that gas money you would use driving to work all day. To learn to make that money within one week of starting click the link One Week Marketing.

How to Get 10 Super Affiliates Desperate to Promote Your Product in 48 Hours Or Less

By Jane Tompsett
So you've got your own affiliate program set up and geared to promoting your products or services. Maybe you paid to join Clickbank and have them handle all the paperwork for you or maybe you forked out a few hundred dollars or more for a fully integrated program. Either way, putting your own affiliate scheme in place has already cost you time and money. But it's going to be worth the effort when you see your dozens of affiliates driving targeted traffic to your site, visitors that are all ready and eager to buy whatever you are offering.

So far it's been really easy to get marketers to join your scheme - what's not been easy is getting any significant numbers of them to actually do any worthwhile promoting. What you really need is to get just a handful of these almost mythical Super Affiliates to come on board. You've certainly heard and read about them but what are the chances that they'd be interested in marketing your product?

The thing is, you've actually made the effort to make your affiliate program as attractive as you can - hence the ease with which marketers signed up - and you've even read a 'How To.....' ebook telling you that you need to make it easy for them to promote your product. Following that advice, you've produced a whole range marketing materials for them to use: three promotional emails; an article; five PPC adverts; a banner ad and a list of half a dozen keywords to base their own marketing efforts around.

What more could they want and what more could you possibly do for them? It just doesn't seem right that you've put in all your time, effort and cash and your affiliates don't seem to be bothered about promoting.

Affiliate programs suck!

So how can you find one, let alone ten, super affiliates to promote your product? You wouldn't even have to bother with all the other marketers at all, if only you could find a motivated, hard-working, creative marketer to fight your corner.

Here's the thing. Instead of looking for some super marketer to come and bring their expertise to you, you are the one who must turn your thinking around and create your own super affiliates and give them your expertise.

You need to be the very first Frankenstein Affiliate Webmaster on the internet!

Just think about it for a moment - you already have the raw materials. You have already attracted a decent number of marketers into your affiliate program. They have already demonstrated that they are sufficiently interested and motivated to spend time going through the sign-up process so you know that they already feel comfortable about marketing your product.

What an incredible resource to have!

So, rather than ignore this pure gold and go and seek some fabled being known as a Super Affiliate, why not take your own affiliates and transform them into brand new, shiny, super affiliates of your own?

And how? Easy! Do what you are already doing but do it a thousand times better.

Take your tired old promotional materials and super-charge them. Make them better, bigger, more comprehensive, more exciting than any of your competitions materials. Put really far-reaching and creative training in place and hold your affiliate's hands as you walk them through it, step by step. Forge a relationship with each and every one of them as you guide and educate them, become more like a mentor than a business partner and it will guarantee that you will produce not just one super affiliate in your stable but five, ten, twenty or more.

And because you will have given each affiliate so much value in their training and mentoring, each one of them will feel intensely loyal and will have the greatest respect for you. Why on earth should they take their new talents elsewhere, where they are likely to encounter the old, disinterested way of doing business?

The reality is that you already have your Super Affiliates in your affiliate program. The power is within you to turn them all into highly trained and highly motivated marketers, ready and willing to promote your product to the very best of their ability.

So before you decide to go chasing something glittering on the far horizon, don't ignore the real gold already in your possession. Make it your priority to put the resources in place that will polishing your affiliates until they shine!

Getting great affiliate training in place is essential if you want to massively turbo-charge your online earnings. Not providing training or providing the wrong kind of training is the biggest mistake that most affiliate webmasters make and it costs are high in terms of lost sales. To discover the right kind of training that will skyrocket your income and for your opportunity to access a no-cost, hour-long video seminar that shows you just what you need to do, visit Jane's Virtual Affiliate Academy Blog at http://affiliateacademy.wordpress.com/
